Frequently Asked Questions
(415) 681-1011
345 W Portal Ave #210, SF
How do I book an appointment?
Booking is easy. You can book online, call us at (415) 681-1011, or email info@anchordentalsf.com, whichever is easiest for you. New patients are always welcome, and our team is happy to help you find a time that fits your schedule.
Where are you located?
We are located at 345 W Portal Ave #210, San Francisco, CA 94127, in the heart of West Portal. We have been a part of the neighborhood since 1998. Street parking and public transit options are nearby.
What are your hours?
We are open Monday through Thursday from 8am to 5pm. We are closed on Fridays, and we open on select Saturdays each month from 8am to 5pm for patients who cannot make it in during the week. Because Saturday spots are limited, we recommend booking ahead.
Are you accepting new patients?
Yes, we would love to welcome you and your family. Whether it has been six months or several years since your last visit, you will always be met with warmth and never any judgment. Just reach out and we will get you scheduled.
Do you accept my insurance?
We accept all major dental insurance and are always glad to help you understand your benefits. Our team can check your coverage before your visit so there are no surprises. Just let us know your plan when you book.
What if I don't have insurance?
No problem at all. We offer a dental savings plan that makes preventive care more affordable for uninsured patients, along with a discount on other treatments. Ask us for details and we will help you find an option that works for you.
Do you offer sedation or help for nervous patients?
Yes. We offer nitrous oxide, often called laughing gas, along with local anesthesia and a gentle, unhurried approach to help anxious patients feel at ease. You stay awake and comfortable the whole time, and many patients who once dreaded the dentist find their visits with us surprisingly easy. You can learn more on our sedation dentistry page.
Do you see children?
Absolutely. We are a family practice and care for patients of every age, from a child's first visit through to their grandparents. We love helping little ones feel comfortable and build healthy habits early.
What should I do in a dental emergency?
Call us right away at (415) 681-1011 and we will do our best to see you as quickly as possible, often the same day. For severe swelling that affects breathing or swallowing, heavy bleeding, or serious facial trauma, go to the nearest emergency room or call 911.
What can I expect at my first visit?
Your first visit usually includes a thorough exam, any needed x-rays, and a chance to talk through your goals and any concerns. We take the time to get to know you and never rush your care. You will leave with a clear understanding of your dental health and any recommended next steps.
